I think you need to look at the fringe effects like 1) Its a lot more of a positive experience than staying in a dead end job 2) Most people find the college years the best of their life 3) It can give you a chance to get out of the parental home.. Also with a downturn at the moment there's not many opportunities out there for young people Whilst I think its difficult to prove a college education adds up moneywise..
