Finding an apartment has gotten a lot easier.

The one thing that I have always hated about renting an apartment in a new city is that it takes time to get to know an area and find places that are available for rent. There are so many resources that you have to check out that it can be pretty intense to try to find a place to live.

I stumbled across an Apartment Search Engine called RentJungle that has a pretty good search engine to try to find rentals across the country. The idea behind the site is that it spiders sites across the internet for apartment listings. With this site, you can even share what you find on social sites like Facebook, where you can share your findings.

I remember the first time I moved to an apartment and had no idea where to start looking. While there are a lot more sites on the internet now than there were 5 years ago, it still isn’t perfect. While it isn’t something that will happen soon, I wish there was a way to have rentals show up like the MLS search for real estate does. If someone has a place for rent, it could go into a huge nationwide database; it could even work in a city-by-city database.
