Has luxury has lost its luster?

Sales are down across the board for many luxury goods retailers. Now, more than in previous years, it has become looked down upon to flaunt wealth, even for those who are still wealthy.

In places like New York’s Fifth Avenue retailers are putting their luxury brands on sale…something they didn’t have to do last year. Consumers are also having to make concessions when it comes to purchases from these stores also.
