Having clear skin means that you don’t have to break the bank

There are times when I really have to watch what I’m putting on my face, particularly when the price starts getting outrageous. I often start noticing that my skin care routine is getting a bit pricey when I start buying several different products at once or buy different products every time I hit the stores.
Skin care, as well as makeup, doesn’t necessarily have to be an expensive routine and you don’t have to buy the most expensive products to ensure that your face is clear and that your makeup is good.
Here are a few steps to start cleaning up your skin and your skin care budget:
1. Drink lots of water. Get yourself a water filter for your tap or a pitcher with a water filter in it and drink at least 64 ounces a day. If you’re not getting at least that then you’re missing the mark on this tip. If you end up having a juice or soda drink, just make sure that you’re still getting the 64 ounces of water (soda doesn’t count as water). Also, keep a bottle of water next to your bed at night and keep a bottle with you throughout the dayl
2. Use a pretty good moisturizer. This means use something with SPF of at least15 and make sure that you put it on after washing your face or going to bed. Did you know that not moisturizing your face could potentially lead to worse break outs than you already experience? Your skin tries to make up for the lost moisture and really overcompensates, creates too much oil and you end up with pimples and blackheads.
3. This one might sound simple, but use a good face wash. I don’t mean great (you don’t have to spend a fortune on face wash). I use Neutrogena Pore Refining wash and the toner that goes along with it. They really do wonders for my face and at under $8 each, they are a bargain.
4. If you have sensitive skin and are on a budget, you have to try out the Almay line of cosmetics. They are very good and many of the products come in a line to match your skin type. They are also hypoallergenic and many of the products won’t cause your pores to get clogged.
5. Try not to touch your face unless you have to. The more you touch your face the more oil from your fingers (as well as bacteria) will get on your face and you will end up spending more money on face products.
6. Skip the MAC counter. MAC is such a popular brand that other brands have come along and made similar products and have done a great job. There are so many websites devoted to MAC replica products, or dupes (which are other companies who have similar colors). All you have to do is google it.

I am so much in love with cosmetics and I can’t go out of the house without putting on some basic make ups like powder and lipstick. But I can’t deny it that I have great skin. Having great skin is really cheap and easy to do.
