Let’s talk Turkey (leftovers)

Thanksgiving leftovers

Instead of leaving this until next weekend to talk about, when undoubtedly most of you have turned your leftover turkey into sandwiches or cold leftovers that are not going to be eaten at all, I decided to make a point of this the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Why would you want to have boring turkey sandwiches day after day once the thanksgiving festivities are over? There are, of course, a lot of really great recipes out there to use that leftover turkey that does not include two slices of bread and your choice of condiment.

First of all, I have found that any recipe that calls for chopped or cooked chicken will also taste fine with cooked turkey. One I am going to try after Thanksgiving this year is chicken spaghetti with turkey instead. Here’s a recipe for chicken spaghetti.

Another recipe that seems to be pretty popular for Thanksgiving leftovers is Turkey Tetrazzini. I haven’t actually tried a recipe for this yet, but there are several recipes on all the most popular sites that seem to offer small deviations from the original recipe.

Another favorite is a leftover turkey pot pie: Turkey Pot Pie

You can’t go wrong with something as fun sounding as Black Friday Pie.
