There is no doubt that the "Circuit City" name is well known in the heads of many electronic consumers. Establishing itself as a force on the net might prove difficult for the brick and mortar retailer, as Best Buy, Tiger Direct, and New Egg have been doing it for years.

Will it be able to establish itself apart from the pack, only time will tell. However, it must drastically change its image as a second tier stop for electronics as it was seen in the real world against Best Buy.

I actually think that this is a pretty smart business move and model for Circuit City. They will now be able to sell products to their already established customers who trust them and their brand name via the internet thereby significantly reducing their operation cost, which will allow them to sell at a significantly lower price.

I can't think of a better way to leverage a brand name that took millions of dollars and years to established.
