Site Redesign – We are currently undergoing a complete site overhaul and design for the launch of our new website. We will be working hard to help give commenters better access to the system by allowing their comments to hit the site without going through as much moderation in order for some features that require fast responses. Users will also be able to moderate each other comments and report possible violations as well.

More Features – Along with the paid writer’s section we will be adding another feature to the site which will be one of the main cores to the site which will allow people to help each other in a unique way and also earn money in the process. Users that are also part of the paid writer’s section will earn a higher amount than regular users as well.

Launch Date – We are aiming for a January 2010 launch of the official new website.

Feedback & Suggestions – If you would like to suggest a feature for the new website for us to consider please either leave a comment below or contact us directly. We are also open to any feedback as well.

Paid Writers – We have started looking into various implementations for the paid writers program that will be coming soon. We have not decided fully on the compensation amount or type but it will be one that rewards experienced and repeat writers over one time writers.

The paid writing program will also be a restricted one, in which it will not be available to everyone. Writers will first have to pass a screening process in order to be allowed into the program. The program is being designed to reward quality over quantity.

As part of the upgrade we where forced to change some things in order to make the site’s current theme compatible with the upgrade, as such our sidebar has been slightly changed as well as the area below posts.

The search, category, and archives have been condensed into one unit to make it easier to use and access for searchers.

Top Commenter has also been removed from the site because it was intended to be something that would be phased out.

The Comment Policy remains the same and there are no plans to change it in the future.

Spammers, sorry guys but you have forced us to make it even more inconvenient for you to even access the site. Last month you attempted to send us(a new high) 32k spam comments. Only around 700 even accessed our site, of which only 17 made it thru our moderation filters and appeared on the site to later be deleted by us. 17/32000 = a 0.05312% chance, not bad. This new upgrade with give you even less of a chance than that. Honestly, make a comment the correct way like everybody else does. Contribute something useful to a conversation and we will let your comment stay up.

Moderation: – A few people have been writing in asking what makes their comments go to moderation on our website. While I would like to directly answer the question I have to guard the secret because it helps control spam comment here.

However, I can give you a few examples that will defiantly get a comment that you make sent to moderation and a couple that will probably just get your comments canned(sent directly to trash).

First off note that commenting on The Lucrative Investor or any website should be a real actual comment. Meaning don’t leave a comment simply for SEO reasons, make a comment that someone would actually want to read. As a comment is a reflection of you and who you are.

Don’t hire people to make comments on our site or any site. Most paid comment services can barely write a complete sentence, or at the very least contribute anything beneficial to the discussion. If a comment is sent to moderation and we have to reconstruct it to make sense because it is so badly worded chances are we will simply delete it.

A good comment not only reflects well upon you but also allows more discussion to take place. This allows every to make more comments and help each other out and foster better conversation.

While the current economic crisis at first was thought to last for many years, people’s recent growing belief that the worst is behind us implies to me that the economy may be better in the 4th quarter of this year.

Weather or not your comment makes it onto the site is up to us. However, the best way to have your comments not get sent to moderation is to look at what comments are live and make as equally good comments.

The better the comment that you make the less likely that your comment will be sent to moderation.
We reserve the right to edit or remove any comment left on the site.

The stats for Top Commenter have been reset as they are done at the beginning of every month.

The Top Commenters from last month where suppose to receive an email notification when Top Commenter reset at the beginning of this month. For some reason the cron job did not execute for this. We are looking into this error and hope to have it fixed soon.

Featured Section – The featured section has been removed from the homepage to increase performance.

Header Section – We have added the latest 3 entires for the The Pitch, Ebooks, and Site News to the header section of every page to give them more visibility to users.

Most Popular Links – Will now only display the most commented on entries for the last 30 days.

Top Commentor

Will now send out an email to you when you get bumped off.

Will send out an email to everyone on Top Commentor when the stats are reset at the beginning of every month.

Now displays now many pages Top Commentors will be displayed on – Currently 2,833 pages.

RSS Feeds – RSS Feeds have been increased to show the most recent 16 entries instead of the most recent 8 entries.

More RSS Options – We’ve created a better RSS Page for readers to have a better selection of which feeds they would like to subscribe to. We have broken all the categories down into separate feeds, as well as the comments feeds by category. Subscribers may still subscribe to the regular site feed to receive all updates, or to the main comment feed to receive all comments made on the site.

The Pitch Series Starts – Starting this Friday(2-27-09) we will start a new series called The Pitch.

What is The Pitch?

The Pitch is a biweekly series which polls our readers on a variety of subjects ranging from investment decisions, political situations, to a possible review of a business idea. The purpose is to not only help our readers gain a better perspective on an issue but to also allow them to bounce ideas off of each other. JavaScript Improvements – We have continued to modify our java so page times load quicker for first time visitors and returning visitors as well.

Layout Uniformed – We did some backend uniforming so that the most used code appears the same thruout the site.

Social Buttons – We have include easier to use social buttons into the site. They will be upgraded even further in the next week or so for even greater use.

Related Posts – We add a related posts tag so that readers can click at the bottom of each post/article if they are interested in reading posts/articles that are closely related to the one that they are reading.

Comment Count – We added a comment count line on all post so that readers can see how many comments are on a particular post/article before clicking on it. You can still use the “Most Popular” section on the right hand sidebar to find the posts/articles where the heaviest discussion is going on at.

Top Commentor – Administrators have now been filtered out of the results, and top commentor will now display the top 5 instead of the top 3 on all pages. We also added a line code to actively display the number of posts/pages in the system so that top commentators may see how many pages they are being displayed on.

KeywordLuv – We have setup KeywordLuv for commentors to help separate their names from the keywords used for their website(in the name field.), inorder to help make the comments easier to read and keep better organized.

All comments should now be left using YourName@YourKeywords, or could possibly be deleted due to spammy looking comments on the site. Previous comments on the site will be allowed to disregard this rule.

If you wish to be notified when we have a new e-book available for download you must be subscribed to our RSS feed. If you are already subscribed to our RSS feed then you do not have to do anything else.

Fixed dating error on posts. Some data from various posts where incorrectly nestled in the database with a data error. This caused some XML errors with some various RSS readers and caused them to crash unexpectedly. This issue has been resolved.

We are running some more analysis tests on the site to further increase the performance and overall speed of the site to better adjust the site for the next development stages.

The first is a new scrolling “featured ” section on the homepage to highlight the most important post/articles at the moment, the headlines with automatically scroll at a timed interval to the next section. The archives for these “featured” articles/posts can also be located by selecting the category “featured” right under our logo on any page.

The second improvement this week is a news section, which will help us keep you up to date on improvements for the site on a weekly basis. The news section will be part of the featured section on the homepage and also will be displayed around the site as well. The site news will also be part of the regular RSS feed so if you are subscribe to it then you will receive it automatically without having to do anything else.

We have also made other major security upgrades, and speed optimization improvements to the site in the past week due to increased traffic levels.
