Surprisingly a lot of people don’t shred their bank statements and other important things like credit card application forms. I always tear everything I throw away into pieces(my parents got me into this habit), even if the document is not important I do it out of habit.

It’s also a crime that people don’t think about until it happens to them. We all lock our doors but how many of us shred our bank account statements?

We all need to really understand the issue of identity theft not only that we avoid being part of it unknowingly but also avoid being the victim of it. The case of identity theft had been rising like that of intellectual property theft. Thought the stakes are not the same, there need to be some serious action taken on the same not only at government level but also at personal level in order to minimize these kind of activities.

That is strange Simon, for some people that wouldn’t be considered a crime to them but kinda of like hitting the lottery. Although I know that it is no laughing matter it is strange that they would be putting money “into” someone’s account rather than taking it out of it.

All of us should know what identity theft or fraud is. Mainly because it represents a real danger nowadays and can leave us with no money in our accounts without realizing it and without being able to recover them.

ID theft happened to my parents recently, although the case was strange. People were actually putting money INTO their account (money from criminal activities to be laundered presumable).
