Using technology to your advantage to find work in a tough economy

When you’re looking for a job after graduation, or any time for that matter, it can seem like a meticulous and frustrating search. After looking for a job armed with a rather ordinary paper resume, many job hunters are becoming exasperated at the lack of work.
Instead of looking at what you may be doing wrong, perhaps it is your resume.
Some are turning to a new, and interesting, way to look at resumes. A website called InterviewClips.com is a new service that gives job seekers the ability to make a multimedia resume. A simple cover letter with a link to the resume video has led to some not only landing a job, but landing a great job.
In tough economic times, when it seems like it’s you against the world, you have to do something to set yourself apart from the crowd. If it is a video resume, then that’s what it is. However, with the news about video resumes coming out, it could be too late though. The idea of a video resume may just have to be what you need to make a new and interesting resume. Maybe a video isn’t for you.
In a multimedia resume, you could include images, examples of your work, and perhaps even Twitter feeds. These new multimedia aspects of the resume are becoming easier to implement as more and more job hunters are turning to technological advancements in their job hunt. Obviously if your resume is online and you do your job hunting on Monster or Hot Jobs, then it will be easier to link to your YouTube video of you leading a marketing project.
There are many websites out there devoted to multimedia resumes and helping their customers find work in new and interesting ways.
I am actually going to start working on a multimedia resume sometimes soon. If the news is right, it could lead to finding a better job and maybe I may be able to get into the career of my dreams. Sure, I like and enjoy writing for this website on a daily basis, but I would really enjoy being able to get into the world and using the degree I spent five years and tens of thousands of dollars on.

I think that a video resume is by far the best thing a company can do. Saving time and money, therefore increasing productivity, which = moving more money = better economy.
We all known how boring and tiresome is to be going to 100 interviews in a car and spending lots of money in Gas. This is definitely some unnecessary work.
A video resume is only complementary though, it will never be able to replace a spontaneous and personal interview.
