What’s got the internet talking today? Ralph Lauren’s PhotoShop Model

Today, on many social news outlets it looks like a lot of people are up in arms over this article from Boing Boing:

The criticism that Ralph Lauren doesn’t want you to see!

It’s obviously not the article itself that has people angry, it’s the extremely PhotoShopped picture as seen above.

This woman very clearly does not look like this in real life. I mean, I have never, ever seen anyone whose head was bigger than his or her waist. Whoever took the photo and made it look like this should have lost their job over the work they have done. Then the person who approved the picture to be used in an ad should also be fired. Luckily, it doesn’t seem like this one made it past the “internet blog” circles.

The actual article on Boing Boing is talking about Ralph Lauren and its lawyers contacting the blog to take the picture down because it violates copyrights. Of course, all this does is cause the image that RL didn’t want anyone to see to be publicized anywhere and everywhere. The lawsuit took something that only a few thousand people saw and turned it into something millions will likely see.

It seems as though Ralph Lauren is quite embarrassed about this image and really doesn’t want anyone to see it. The company’s bad Photo Shopping have led to a Public Relations nightmare for the company. Good luck with this one Ralph!
