Where to retire on the cheap

Retirees find themselves wanting to move to places that are not only warm, but sunny and sometimes, exotic. However, if those retirees would like to stay in the United States and still be able to have a little bit of money on the side then, there are some places where their money will go further than other, hot retirement locations.
According to U.S. News and World Report, these are the top 10 places where couples can retire “on the cheap”
10 Affordable Places to Retire on the Water
* Bella Vista, Ark.
* Bismarck, N.D.
* Cape Coral, Fla.
* Dover, Del.
* Dubuque, Iowa
* Fairhope, Ala.
* Lake Jackson, Texas
* Loveland, Colo.
* Richland, Wash.
* Traverse City, Mich.
It turns out all these places are along the water or near water of some kind. I, personally, would love to retire to some island where the sand is white and the water is blue. It is nice to see a perfect scenario, however, as far as this list goes, there is no way I could envision myself retiring to Alabama or Arkansas. After living in Mississippi all my life, I just don’t think that I could spend my golden years without the scenery of the Gulf of Mexico or any Ocean. I have seen the coast of both Alabama and Mississippi and both aren’t that breathtaking.
There are also a lot of people who pay a lot of money for condos along the Mississippi River in Memphis, which I also don’t understand. Downtown Memphis is really a hit or miss.
Are there any areas that you think are a good choice for retirees? Comment below and I might put your comment in the post!
